	My book, written over the course of two years, was a project dear to my heart. It is a memoir of my late daughter, an exceptional young artist who passed away at the very brink of her career. I knew that finding someone to do the layout and actually print the book was as important as the writing itself. A book is, after all, known by its cover. Back in October of 2009, my husband Ed was immersed in one of Dan Poynter's excellent manuals on self-publishing. Ed came across a list of recommended printers, and was thrilled to find one local to us, A & A Printing in Tampa, Florida. Ed made a phone call and spoke to the owner, Billy. Not only was Billy friendly and open and able to answer all of Ed's questions, but he even recommended a layout and cover artist, Eli Blyden of Crunchtime Graphics. This really got the ball rolling. We worked with Eli to create a book design and layout that I was absolutely thrilled with. And once the book went to A & A, there was a lot of communication back and forth just to get everything exactly the way I wanted. Everyone at A & A bent way over backwards to help us, even working past quitting time to ensure it went to print in a timely fashion. And they never once sounded annoyed! 	This being my first book to publish I was quite unsure of all the steps I needed to take, and after looking at all the options for self publishing and printing companies out there I was only further confused and to be quite honest overwhelmed. I researched the possibilities for publishing over the last 3 months of writing the book. After talking to Billy, the process seemed way to easy, one of those to good to be true deals. With fear I offered my credit card to the nice lady over the phone and comforted myself by saying we all have to take the leap of faith at some point in our career and here it was. I was told that I would see a proof in about a week, yea.., 5 days later UPS arrived and dropped off a package; the proof WOW. I looked through the rough book and found two mistakes (mine) AND E-mailed back the corrections. two (2) weeks later UPS once again arrived at the door, the final product was just as promised, complete and well done. To all the people that worked on my project and helped me become a published author I say Thank You.
