Standard Book Sizes (Trim Size)

Standard Book Sizes Include:

• 5.5 x 8.5- Trade Paperback
• 6 x 9- Trade Paperback
• 8.5 x 11- Manual or Textbook

These smaller trade paperback formats, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"and 6” x 9”, can be printed in quantities under 500 books without costing a huge premium. We can print four 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" or 6”x 9” pages at a time (4 up) on each side of a single 11" x 17" or 12” x 18” sheets of paper. Printing a book any other size page on this standard sheet size requires an extra cutting step, plus a good deal more waste. Our larger offset presses handle larger runs of up to 1000 books, involving plate preparation. The largest and fastest presses are the web offset presses, which run large continual rolls of paper, rather than sheets, and are used for our largest runs of up to 3000 perfect bound books. We use our commercial web presses as well on even larger runs of booklets and plasticoil manuals.
